Finally back!

Well....so we got back on Tuesday. What can I say, we've been busy!

The best sort of return is when lovely things are waiting for you. We managed to clean the house before leaving, so that was nice to come home to. And then all of our mail came the next day, complete with the fabrics from one of my swaps. I have this lovely new stack of 32 Kona 10" squares :) What to do with it?

I've managed to squeak out just a little bit of sewing - my finished stack of modern siggy blocks, ready for the post office tomorrow!

Yesterday Charlie fell asleep in the car and we didn't want to wake him...so it became the perfect opportunity to drive to the far away quilt store to check it out. Unfortunately, I was not all that impressed, but John and I took copious amounts of patterns out of the plastic baggies to investigate their printing methods (uhhh, don't tell the staff, lol). And just before leaving, I noticed this great Kona woven fabric (Kona Dimensions Royal), so we didn't have to leave empty handed! Though I doubt I'll be returning.

We also went to Fry's for the first time. "Barnes & Nobles for computer geeks", my husband dubbed it. He's an electrical engineer, so he was drooling over lots of things. I was getting bored, but reminded myself that he just spent quite awhile at a quilt shop with me. What a good husband :). And some shots of Oregon beauty from vacation:
