"Glass Half Full II" Pattern by Lindsay Conner

Well, the machine is in the shop. Pardon my French, but she's been a bitch since day 1, and thread breaking every 6 inches? Yeah. I'm not quilting a bed-sized anything on that. The timing and the clearance both appear to be off (according to more well-educated eyes than mine - ie, the technician), so hopefully she comes back sitting pretty. She never did work quite right for quilting, so he's assuming she was simply incorrectly set from the get-go at the factory. Soooooooo, I'm having a giveaway. Because if you can't sew, then give stuff away .... or .... well, that wasn't a witty phrase. Moving on.

I'm sure you all know Lindsay by now, right? She wears a million hats - wife, mom, quilter, blogger, pattern writer, author, probably some other things I'm forgetting about...anyway, she blogs at Lindsay Sews, Craftsy, and Craft Buds. She's sharing her new pattern - which is actually a revamp of an older version. I'm totally in love with this new version because it's super uniform, and structured, and I'm sorry...is my type A showing? Glass Half Full II Quilt

I'm thinking doing the entire quilt with just these two Carolyn Friedlander prints would make for an awesome, hipster boy quilt. Gray print for the "glasses", white for the background. (Yes, I'm a one-trick pony. I don't apologize in the least.)

Now, enough of me babbling - let's hear what Lindsay has to say about this pattern!!

Thanks Amy!

It all started last year, when I got the invitation to design a quilt with the new 2015 Cotton + Steel fabrics.  Of course, I said "Yes!" I received the fabric for this quilt around the holidays and stitched it up the first couple weeks of January. Now that the quilt kit is LIVE on Craftsy, I am happy to show it off!

Glass Half Full II Quilt Detail

I resized and modified my crib-sized quilt of the same name. I revamped the instructions to make it more straight-forward, and to make the best use of the materials. It comes with full-size templates, assembly diagrams, and tutorial-style color photos to guide you step by step. I quilted it with my favorite free-motion rectangles pattern.

Glass Half Full II (a 65" x 89" twin-sized quilt), is available as a kit from Craftsy. I chose my favorite prints from the early 2015 Cotton + Steel collections. This was, of course, excruciating to narrow it down to just 15 prints. Because C+S fabrics play so well together, everything looked good. The kit features my faves from:

- Melody Miller's Playful collection

- Rashida Coleman-Hale's Mochi collection

- Alexia Abegg's Mesa collection

- Kim Kight's Cookie Book collection

- Sarah Watts's Tokyo Train Ride collection

Isn't is so cool how well these fabrics from 5 different collections work together? The binding is a navy blue text print. If you'd like, you can even pick up 5 1/2 yards of gorgeous, navy-blue C+S backing fabric to go with this quilt kit!
